Installing Whatsapp On Unsupported Java Phones

Sometimes ago, about two (2) years now, I discussed how to download and install Whatsapp IM Messenger on Java phones that do not support Whatsapp ordinarily but the process involves the use of your PC.

Here, I would discuss another method you could use to download and run Whatsapp IM Messenger on your Java phone without having to use your PC.

Requirments for Downloading Whatsapp Messenger On Java Phone with this Method

1- Internet access on your Java phone.
2- If the phone uses two (2) SIMs, both should be slotted in.
3- About 20mb free space on your SD Card/Phone storage.
4- Download these two files, the .jar file here and the .jad file here.

Installing Whatsapp IM On Unsupported Java S40 Phones

==> Create a new folder on your phone. You can name it the folder anything you like.
==> Now, move the two (2) downloaded files to the folder you might have created as instructed above.
==> Turn off the phone and after some seconds, turn it back on.
==> Go to the folder in which you have moved the downloaded files, you will notice that Whatsapp icon is now there, open the application. If its prompts you to update, click yes and wait for the update to complete.
During the update process, you might get a message stating ‘get updating notification enabler‘. Let that load. It should fail and you should get an error saying Phone not supported. Don’t panic. Close the app and restart your whatsapp again. It should now be fully installed and working fine.

If you have any problem with the installation process or the downloads, do let me know in the comment below.
