HTC Rezound ICS hboot, PH98IMG.zip Flashable Via Hboot

If you have upgraded your HTC Rezound to an ICS ROM or later versions of android like the Jellybean, you might have to upgrade your hboot in order to run the ROM smoothly, or the phone might have to keep on restarting while booting on.

Within this page, I have attached an ICS ENG-off hboot with a CWM custom recovery for the HTC Rezound which is also known as vigor in a zip file. This zip file is flashable via hboot and only takes few seconds.

What is ENG-off hboot?

Hboot is the term HTC uses to refer to their android boot loaders which loads and boots either android or recovery. Meanwhile, an ENG-off boot loader gives you the opportunity to modify or flash certain partitions or .img file on the android device like the radio, recovery or even the boot loader itself which ordinarily, you would need root permission to perform some of these tasks within the android.

How to Flash the PH98IMG.zip File On your HTC Rezound, Vigor

This process updates your HTC Rezound, vigor with the latest CWM recovery (which replaces your stock recovery or whichever recovery.img you already have) and an ICS ENG-off Hboot.

1- Download the file named PH98IMG.zip in the table below this page.

2- Copy the file to the root of your SD Card i.e don't copy it under any folder in the SD Card. And make sure it is named PH98IMG.zip

3- Disable fastboot mode on the phone by going to Menu - Settings - Power - Fastboot.

4- Put off your phone or remove the battery and re-insert the battery again.

5- Boot the phone to hboot by pressing the Power + the Volume Down buttons together for some seconds until the phone boots to hboot.

6- Wait few seconds for the phone to detect and scan the PH98IMG.zip file on your SD Card. If the phone prompts that; "Do you want to start the update?" press the volume Up button to start the update.

7- Wait few seconds for the update to complete and reboot your HTC Rezound, vigor.

Congratulations! Now, the process is then complete!

How to Flash Custom Recovery On HTC Rezound, Vigor

For one reason or another, you might want to flash custom recovery on your HTC rezound also known as vigor. While you may have red a lot of tutorials and tried a lot of methods, but here, within this page; I present you the simplest method of flashing custom recovery on your HTC rezound that is also known as vigor.

Please note that this method works only on HTC vigor, rezound that has S-off. If your HTC rezound is not already S-Off, you may use HTCDev to unlock your bootloader.

What is S-off?

S-off which is also known as secu-off or security-off (some call it security flag) is a term common with HTC android devices and it is a kind of security put in place to checking and preventing any unsigned .img files (radio.img, recovery.img, etc.) or zips from being flashed on android HTC devices.

Meanwhile, this security is active if your device is S-On and on the other hand, S-off means "Security-off" and this gives you the opportunity to flash any.img files or zips on the phone.

1- Download the file named PH98IMG.zip in the table below this page.

How to Share Glo Data Plan

You can now subscribe to a particular Glo data plan and share it among your friends who are also using Glo lines.

The Glo line to share with could be a ported line or a real Glo line thus any MTN, Etisalat or Airtel line that is ported to the Network can also share the data plan.

How the Glo Data Share Works

By subscribing to a single data plan from Glo, you can actually use the same data plan on different Glo lines within the same period of time.

E.g
Supposing you subscribed to a 800mb of data from Glo at a cost N2000 and of which will last 30days say; 15 February to 17 March.

Between this period, you can actually use the same data plan on different Glo lines by sharing it. But before you can share your Glo data plan, you should note these few terms;

1- You must subscribe to at least, N1000 data plan which is 350mb, before you can share it.
2- You can ONLY share Glo data with Glo lines. Either ported or real Glo lines.
3- You cannot share with more than 5 Glo lines.
4- You cannot allot or specify an amount of data usable for those lines you share your data with.
5- You cannot view the amount of data they have used. You can only view the amount of data you have left.

How to Share the Glo Data Plans

As always, you have two (2) options of sharing the Glo data plan;

1- The HSI Portal
2- The USSD Codes

Personally, I prefer the HSI portal because of the way the data usage are being presented on the portal.
How to Share Glo Data Using the Portal
To share using the HSI portal, simply visit the HSI Portal here, if you have already subscribed, you will see your subscription details immediately and the option to share your data.

To Share Glo Data Using USSD Code
Look at the table below to see how to share and manage your data plan using USSD codes.

Glo Data Share USSD Codes
1- To Check data balance dial:	1270# and then, send
2- To share data plan with a line dial:	12701*the glo line#
3- To unshare data plan with a line dial:	12702*the glo line#

NOTICE:
You must have an active subscription before you can be able to share a data plan with any Glo line and immediately your subscriptions expires, all the lines you share with are gone.

How to Put iPhone or iPad in DFU Mode

Device Firmware Upgrade mode, DFU for short, it is a state in which any iOS device can be before it loads up the operating system (OS). At this state, you can actually alter the currently running OS on your iOS device provided that you know how to go about it.

2- Put off your Device	Now, Press and hold the Power Button to power off your device. When the device promote, swipe right to shutdown the device.
3- Press and Hold Power Button	When the device is completely shutdown, with the device still connected to the PC, press and hold the power button for 3 seconds.
4- Press And Hold Home-button	After the first 3 seconds of holding the power button, now, press and hold the home button while still holding the power button.
5- Release Power Button	After exactly 10 seconds of holding both the power button and the home button, release the power button. The iTunes should now defects your device in DFU mode and a message should be displayed on your PC.

Putting iPad or iPhone in Recovery Mode

Similar to the androids, the recovery is the partition where maintenance operations are being done on an iOS device. And booting an iOS device into the recovery mode is relatively complex compare to the androids if you don't know how to do it.

1- Disconnect your iPhone or iPad: you might not be able to put it in recovery mode if it's not disconnected.

3- Press and Hold Home Button: When the phone is off, press and hold the round home- button for few seconds.
4- Hold Home-button Still: While still holding the home button, connect the phone to the PC for few more seconds.
5- Now, Tap Power Button: Now, tap the power button for 3 seconds and release the iTunes logo should come up.
6- Lunch iTunes: iTunes should now detect your device by displaying the image here.
