We may not always be able to prevent some things from happening but, we can always prepare for them so that we may get rid of them easily, in case they happen.
Android device is a very useful smartphone and is fast becoming an indispensable gadget for many businesses like mine. I do lots of transactions and save so many files on my android device and for these reasons, anything that would make me loose these files or restrict my access to the device would be destructive.
So, within this write up, we discuss six (6) things you could do on your android device (when it is still in good condition) so that when your android device is breaked, locked (forgotten password/code/pattern) or lost, you may be able to recover the phone or your files easily.
1- Frequent Back up: the number one escape route for loss of data is the frequent back up you do. You may choose to doing your backups locally; on your SD card or PC. And you may decide to using Cloud Storage servers like box, dropbox, SugarSync amongst others. Just keep up your backup schedules.
2- Unlock your Boot loader: In android, the bootloader typically starts either the Android or Recovery. Having an unlocked boot loader would greatly help you in case your android device is breaked or you want to flash a custom recovery which even helps you better modify your android device and in taking care of other advanced maintenance issues like backing up the whole device ROM, some partitions such as: data or system partition.

3- Custom Recovery: having custom recovery flashed on your android device is like shielding your android device. Although, anything can happen to the phone but you can always give live back to the phone. Plus, you can always perform advance maintenance on the phone using the custom recovery as explained above.

4- Super CID your phone. This option is especially useful when your android device is completely breaked and you wish to load a shipped ROM on it.
Every android device has its own CID for security purpose e.g an android device model made by Samsung for AT&T has a different CID to the same model made for T-Mobile.
To override this, you need to Super CID your android device so that you may be able to load any shipped ROM for that model on your phone in case the need be.
5- USB Debugging Option: every android device has USB Debugging settings within it. This USB Debugging enables your android device interact with your PC via ADB either with the phone on android, boot loader or in recovery mode.
Even if you don't know how to use the USB Debugging, you should always set the USB Debugging Option to "On". This will help you a long way and make the work easier for whoever wish to help you out in case your phone develops software related faults.
6- The Fast boot Mode: the fast boot option is currently being found in only HTC android devices. This option lets your HTC android device boots faster because it lets the phone ignore certain loading processes and boot straight to the android.
Even with this usefulness, you are NOT advised to set the fast boot option to "ON". Do always off the fast boot option.
