I could remember when a colleague came to me lamenting what difficulties he had been through just by trying to boot his HTC Mytouch 4G into recovery mode!
Booting any Android device into the recovery mode is perhaps, a necessary step to take before you can be able to upgrade or downgrade your android device. Yes. With the fastboot checked, you might be unable to boot your HTC phone into bootloader.
If you have ever tried to boot your HTC MyTouch 4G into recovery mode, you will notice that the usual logic to enter the recovery mode for most HTC Android devices seems not working for the HTC MyTouch 4G.
As in the case of the Tmobile G2 and other Android devices by HTC, you only have to switch off the phone by either pressing and holding down the power button or by removing the battery then; to boot into the recovery mode, you will simply Press and hold the power button plus the volume down button (Power + Volume down buttons) at once.
For the usual logic to work with the HTC My Touch 4G, you have to unmark the "Fast Boot" option in the power option under settings and to do this; simply go to:
Please note that you only have to unmark the "Fast Boot" option. If the "Fast Boot" Option is already unmarked, just leave it.
If you have successfully located and unmarked the "Fast Boot" option, you can then boot your HTC MyTouch 4G into recovery or bootloader mode using the usual logic for all other HTC Android OS smartphones. Thus;
Good luck
