3- First, you need to add the PPA from webupd8.org to your PC. Just type this sudo add-apt-repository ppa:nilarimogard/webupd8 on Terminal and hit the enter button. Enter your admin password once it prompts.
4- Now, you need to update your directories with all the necessary dependencies. To do so type sudo apt-get update on the Terminal and hit the enter button. Depending on the server, this may take few minutes. Simply wait until it completes.
5- And finally, to install ADB and FASTBOOT packages on the Linux PC, simply type sudo apt-get install android-tools-adb and hit the enter button. Once it completes type sudo apt-get install android-tools-fastboot and hit the enter button.
6- Supply the admin password for your Linux PC then hit the enter key.
7- Wait few seconds for the installations to complete and ENJOY!

To confirm the version of ADB and Fastboot packages installed on your Linux PC, simply type sudo adb version on the Terminal.
The next line of codes should display the ADB and version installed on your Linux PC.

At some points in time, you may have stumbled upon a CID/MID or, you may have being requested to provide your HTC phone's CID/MID, this is mostly required whenever you need to make some modifications to your android phone's recovery, bootloader or firmware.

What is an Android Device CID?
The CID also known as the Carrier ID is the line of code that is already embedded in android devices. The CID is being used to lock the phone to a particular carrier and helps prevent the phone from accepting any other carrier SIM card other than the carrier it is locked to.
E.g
An android device whose CID is for the AT&T cannot be used with the TMobile SIM Card until it is unlocked.

Three (3) Ways to Know your Android Device CID
Before you can be able to manipulate the firmware or bootloader of your android device, you most likely need to know the CID of the device.

1- ADB Method: this is a generally accepted method that can be used to reveal most android devices CID.
To use this method, you need to have installed ADB/Set up ADB Tools on your PC and also; the android drivers for the particular android device must have being installed and ready for use on the PC.

Once done, simply connect your android device to the PC using compatible USB Cable, wait few seconds for the PC to install the necessary drivers, then lunch the Command Prompt.
1- On command prompt type; cd c:/your-adb-folder-name then, hit enter button.
2- On the next line type; adb devices and hit enter button.
3- On the next line type; adb reboot bootloader then, hit enter button. Wait few seconds for the phone to reboot to bootloader/hboot screen.
4- Now, make sure that the PC sees the phone in fastboot mode by typing fastboot devices on command prompt.
5- Lastly, type fastboot getvar CID on command prompt and hit enter button.

2- Below Battery Seat: on most android devices especially; HTC the CID, MID amongst other details are written on the phone's battery seat. Simply remove the battery to reveal your phone's CID.

3- SIM Slot Cover: also, on HTC android devices like the HTC One V, the CID can be found around the SIM slot area. Look for the phone's CID around there.

2- Boot your android device to fastboot/bootloader mode by using the key conbinations or via Terminal/Command Prompt.
HTC Users can use this key combinations: Put off the phone then, Press the Power+Volume Down Buttons together until the phone boots to hboot.

To boot to bootloader via Terminal/Command Prompt; connect your android device to the PC, wait few seconds for the PC to install all the drivers then; open command prompt/Terminal and type these command lines;
cd c:/your-adb-folder-name
adb devices
adb reboot bootloader
***After each command line above, hit the enter button on the PC. To make this method work, you must enable USB Debugging on the phone.

3- Once the phone is on the bootloader screen, the PC should install another drivers. Make sure USB is seen on the phone bootloader screen. Confirm the bootloader mode by typing this line of code on the Command Prompt/terminal;
fastboot devices
Your android device Serial Number should be displayed on the Terminal/Command Prompt window.

4- Get any valid Blackberry Device IMEI number. You can use your friends Blackberry device IMEI number or generate another one using this tool.

5- Now, change your android device IMEI Number to the Blackberry device IMEI by typing the following code on Terminal/Command Prompt;
fastboot getvar imei
fastboot oem writeimei the-blackberry-imei
fastboot getvar imei

***The first IMEI displayed on the line above is your original IMEI. And the last IMEI displayed is the Blackberry IMEI you changed to.

The Terminal Method:
This method of changing android device IMEI to a Blackberry device IMEI can only be done on a rooted android device and Terminal Emmulator nust be installed on the phone. You can download Terminal Emulator from the Play Store.

To begin; Single SIM Device
1- Open Terminal Emulator on the phone.
2- Type SU and hit enter -this allows you to gain root access.
3- Type this command line in terminal: echo 'AT+EGMR=1,7,"IMEI_NUMBER" '>/dev/pttycmd1 or echo AT+EGMR=1*7*IMEI_1>/dev/pttycmd1

If your phone is a Dual SIM android device, use this command line;
echo 'AT+EGMR=1,10,"IMEI_NUMBER" '>/dev/pttycmd1 then; hit the enter button.

4- Wait for the exploit to complete then, reboot your phone.


NOTICE:
***This exploit works for all android devices including the MTK Androids and Nomandi (Nokia Androids).
***If at first your data service signal fluctuates, simply off and on the phone, run BBM at the first startup and then; the signal should become stable.
